For example, a wife might not be able to be alone while her husband is away at work, hence she might call him back from work early just so that he can be with her. There are a number of ways to treat monophobia and one of them is cognitive behavioral therapy while another is systematic desensitization. However, whatever method is used, it must be recognized that as with most mental patients, family support is highly desired in such circumstances. A sufferer can get all the treatment that he or she wants but if friends and family are not there to support them, then they might not get very far. In fact, family therapy forms a part of treatment. People need to realize the people suffering from monophobia are not themselves and are actually in need of help. This will help them understand the patient better and help them overcome this adversity.
